frequently asked questions

My pelvic floor feels fine. Do I need to see a pelvic floor PT?

The pelvic floor is part of the core system which is the powerhouse for the entire body. Neglecting the pelvic floor is neglecting a true “whole-body” approach. A pelvic floor physical therapist treats many dysfunctions that are specific to the pelvic floor, but we also pride ourselves in the ability to take a true whole-body approach to get to the ROOT cause of whatever symptoms you may be facing even outside of the pelvic floor.

Do I need a referral to begin therapy?

No referral needed. Once you schedule your appointment, we can begin therapy. For our Oklahoma patients, we will work on your behalf to get an appropriate signature on our plan of care within the first 30 days of treatment, per Oklahoma practice guidelines.

What insurance do you accept?

Our Oklahoma office currently bills to BCBS and HealthChoice. Many of our patients are cash pay for the reasons listed here. Our Arkansas office is 100% cash based. We do accept HSA and FSA accounts and provide detailed receipts which you can submit to your insurance company.

How many visits before I feel better?

Our goal is for you to begin seeing changes as early as visit one. Ideally, we want you to notice substantial differences in how you are moving and feeling within the first few sessions. We guarantee to put forth additional time, research, and effort to get to the source of your symptoms.

How often will I need to come to therapy?

Most patient’s begin coming to therapy biweekly-monthly, with frequency being reduced as appropriate. We discuss your progress at each visit. YOU are ultimately in control of how often you come to therapy. We are here to give you our professional recommendation.

Will I receive a home program?

Each visit we will review your home program. These are individualized exercises and manual techniques based upon your presentation. It is expected that you are compliant with your home program to allow for progression each therapy session. Compliance results in the best outcomes!

Who will I see during my visits?

Each visit you will spend your full session with Dr. Karinda Polk, Dr. Maddie Foote, Dr. Lauren Kelley, or Dr. Grace Johnson. No technicians are utilized and you will not be left on any machines unattended. We believe being present and hands-on with the patient at all times is crucial.
